The second lecture supported this year was held on August 9 at the NTUH International Convention Center, 2F Room 205, featuring Professor Liu Chun-Jen from National Taiwan University Hospital, who delivered an in-depth talk: “Who Is Prone to Hepatitis B? How to Prevent and Treat It?”
Highlights of the Lecture
Hepatitis B is one of the most common infectious diseases in Taiwan and a potential health threat that many people overlook.
Professor Liu presented the topic in a clear and relatable way, emphasizing repeatedly the importance of “early screening and timely treatment.” He pointed out:
- The progression from hepatitis to cirrhosis and then to liver cancer is irreversible
- Hepatitis C can be cured, but Hepatitis B requires ongoing treatment because the virus hides inside cells
- Proper vaccination or medication can significantly reduce the risk of infection and disease progression
The event attracted more than 600 health-conscious participants both onsite and via live stream. Everyone gained first-hand, practical knowledge to help protect their own health and that of their loved ones—moving towards a liver disease-free, truly happy life!
