In response to the increasingly severe electromagnetic interference and lightning risks, LinkCom Electronics (LinkCom 6821) officially launched the immunity testing service in accordance with the international standard ITU-T K.21 (07/2017), which is specially designed for key communication components such as LAN transformers to help customers improve the reliability and safety of their products in harsh environments.
This testing service targets abnormal voltage scenarios such as lightning strikes and surges, simulates interference sources that may be encountered in actual applications, and conducts strict verification according to ITU-T K.21 specifications to ensure that the product has sufficient anti-interference capabilities and meets the quality requirements of the global telecommunications and communication equipment market.
Why ITU-T K.21?
ITU-T K.21 is a technical standard developed by the International Telecommunication Union. It defines the immunity requirements for telecommunication equipment installed at the user end in the event of lightning strikes, power system anomalies, or electrostatic discharge. Compliance with this standard means that the product has internationally recognized protection capabilities and can effectively reduce the risk of equipment damage and communication interruption caused by surges.
This testing service is based on the K.21 standard, simulating interference sources that may be encountered in actual applications, and conducting strict verification to ensure that the product has sufficient anti-interference capabilities. Test items include:
•Lightning strike simulation surge test
•Overvoltage and overcurrent tolerance verification
•Grounding and connection safety check
“We are well aware that communication stability is crucial in application scenarios such as 5G, smart cities and industrial IoT,” said the LinkCom 6821 technical team. “Through this testing service, we not only help customers reduce the risk of product failure, but also accelerate their entry into the international market.”
